Plant a garden for fresh vegetables. Each planting season get the family out and dig in the dirt. It is fun and the kids can also help. Gardening is also science as you can talk about how things grow, photosynthesis and plant life.

It takes much longer than buying but at the end of a season you will have fresh vegetables that can be frozen for use during the rest of the year. The children also learn from gardening.

When I get mad at DH in the summer I can found ripping out weeds in the garden!

Does anybody know of a good website to get garndening tips for regions in the United States. I would love to plant a garden this spring, but don't know when to plant what and so on.
