I have found the price difference and the quality between diaper brands to be huge. I think the brand names are much better for leak absorption. However, my kids never go that long w/o having their diapers changed- unless it's overnight. Now, when I go to Sam's Club, I buy 1 box of the Member's Mark (Sam's club generic) diaper and one of the Huggies or Pampers, whichever is cheaper that day. I use the name brand only at night- or when my son had Rotavirus I have never had a problem with the generics leaking during the day. I have had him soak through those at night. There is about a $10 difference in the boxes. I don't have to buy the name brand nearly as often, so it really adds up.

Thanks for your sharing your experience. I recently switched to Luvs during the day but put on Pampers Cruisers at night. I haven't tried the sams brand. Maybe I'll try them for daytime.
