When I need to print something out I go to the print menu and pick fast draft and grayscale. Also I do a print preview and just print out the page(s) I need - this saves on ink considerably and on paper.

Good for the environment too - I also print stuff that is just for my information on recycled paper (you know when you print something out you no longer need - just save it in a recycling folder and use the back to print out the next thing you want to archive, print, etc...)
