Nope, not at all. We eat at home about 4-5 times a week. On the weekend we try and go out to eat, and I don't feel guilty one bit. I look at it this way, we both work very hard so we look at it as a treat.

I used to feel guilty, but then we started on a budget and using cash envelopes. Now I know how much money I have for the month and don't feel guilty because the sole desination for the money was eating out!

Ladies I wouldn't feel so guilty about those meals out if I were you and here are SOME of the reasons why:
You are A
nurse, mom, housekeeper, laundry person, taxi driver, grocery fetcher, doctor, secretary, money manager, bookkeeper and many more things. Add up what it would cost to pay for these and the cost of one meal out is pretty cheap. If it bothers you too much; We give all of our kids a coupon to a local restaurant as a gift, for them to use whenever they choose!
That way they REALLY get a free meal!!

When my kids were growing up we didn't go out very often, couldn't with 7 of us,LOL!
But when we did I didn't feel guilty unless there was a bill that could have been paid with what we spent. We do go out more often now,but only if the bills are paid first.
Ya know, when you budget the money good & cut back,if there is some extra it's a treat for the family to go out.

No. Never thought about it. If we do it too much one week, I guess I am kicking myself, but I don't feel guilty about it.

If it is every so often, then absolutely not! Shoot, we usually have a coupon or go on kids out free night so I am still being frugal even in our special days out! We mostly do it at lunch to have it be eve less expensive.

And as a STHM it's so nice to go out & be able to go home to a clean kitchen.

Yep, I feel guilty everytime even if it's just ordering pizza or something.

No. We build eating out into our budget. We probably eat out as a family at a sit-down restaurant twice a month (nothing fancy or expensive). It's a treat for me not to have to cook and clean up, and we get to spend stress-free, fun family time together.

I think I would start to feel guilty if we were doing it too frequently, and doing it out of convenience rather than choice.

We haven't eaten out in a LONG time. Right now, we try to make meals at home that cost about $2 or $3 total for both of us - and usually have leftovers for the next day. Going to a restaurant and paying $20 for one meal is too much for us right now.

That being said, dh has a birthday on the 14th, and we will be going out to eat on the 11th to celebrate. I don't feel the least bit guilty about that, because I love birthdays and want him to feel extra special when we celebrate it!
