I just got a brochure yestderday that we're getting a beauty school nearby. They are offering haircuts for kids for $5, men $6, women $8 - cut and blow dry. Manicures are I think $12, and Pedicures are $20!

I have scheduled a pedicure at a salon next week that I am going to cancel. It is my 'treat' but it also is $45 plus tip. I am going to schedule one at the school and I feel if it doesn't come out quite right, I can just put socks on!

Seriously, I'm just thrilled. Since I've been really watching $, the beauty treatments were the first things to go. Now I can still indulge occasionally for half the price.

We have a Gene Juarez school here and it is awesome! I haven't been in a while but the last time I went the guy was having a hard time (don't know why I have thin straight hair ) but he was. So the instructor showed him how he should do it and she did my whole haircut. He was bent out of shape but it was the best haircut I ever had!
Its also a great place for those expensive up-dos. Any hairdresser aroundhere charges 75 for elaborate hair dos and that is for regular length hair my dd1 has very long hair. GJ charges 25 regardless of length and the instructors are always there to help

Wow that's great news. Judging on the way I butchered poor DS's hair on the weekend, this deal would have been a good thing!
