We write each other a love note every year. That's it. No gifts, no chocolate, no eating out, no Hallmark card, just a plain old fashioned hand written love note. But I cherish that  note more than anything else all year!

Dh and I are going to exchange cards. I want to do something else, but I'm not sure what yet. I was thinking of finding a song that really expresses how I feel about dh and downloading it then burning a dh a cd and then giving it to him.

For ds, I didn't want to give candy or sweets. He still has Halloween/Christmas candy left! And don't say throw it out, I already did a lot of it, and the few pieces left - he has a photographic memory and knows Exactly what he has left.

I was going to get him some trinket or another but after decluttering all his toys this weekend and going through four baskets of small itsy bitsy toys I decided I'm not going to buy any trinkets either. So while this isn't really frugal, I bought him a Craola Color Wonder craft kit to make suncatchers. I figure it was $6.99, but it is an Activity, and not just that but it will make something he can keep and decorate with. $ well spent to me.

This year my DH and I have made a mandate against big luxury purchases or seasonal celebrations since I've decided to be a SAHM. For Valentine's Day I am sure we will make a nicer dinner, enjoy a glass of wine, put a fire on after DS goes to bed and just be thankful for the wonderful year we have had. May sound simple, but we do enjoy it.

Welll it's a Wednesday so we will probably watch LOST. Big date huh??? But since it's on at 9pm now, we can watch it kid free :D

Normally we don't do anything ~ say "Happy Valentines Day" and that's about it. DH has never been big with holidays, and so I have come to accept and not expect.

I think I will take blessedof6's idea to write down why I chose him and continue to do so. I have found out that men need to know as much as women do! We usually have a nice dinner and pick out very meaningful cards though and the kids made sand art this year that was a xmas gift to give to daddy.

I don't know what we will do. We always say "it is just another day" and we decide not to do anything. But then he always gets me something and I feel bad because I have held up my end of the bargin. So, I want to do something really special for him this year. I do like the letter idea, but we kinda do this already (we even wrote our own wedding vows). So, I need to think of something that will be special for him.
