I turned in a bag of books at Half Price Books. While I waited I sat down with an Amish Cookbook and wrote down what recipes sounded good. Normally I would have just bought it but one of my resolutions as to not buy anymore cookbooks(get them free from library and recipes on line). Saved myself $9.50.

I am attempting to make custard. DH apparently loves it (after 19 years you would think I would know this by now) but I don't want to spend the amount that the little cups in the grocery store charges. Now that we are home full time (he has a home office) he is eating a little treat with lunch, so hopefully this will be cheaper in the long run.
I've never made it before, and it's out of the oven now so we will see. Sure doesn't look like much to me!

I brought my lunch to work today instead of eating out. I stayed in the lunchroom instead of taking a ride. Both things are a major improvement because I used to go out every day whether to eat or just to take a ride to get out of the office.

I wasn't even bored because I brought a magazine with me.

I also went to Half Price Books and got $12. Not a lot, but my friend and I are going out to dinner tomorrow, and I have a $10 off coupon for a bill of $30 or more. So we are going to put ours both on the same bill, and take $5 off each. The balance I'll pay with my Half Price book $!

Well when I am upset I spend money so I ended up buying all kinds of things i didnt even really want. So I took it all back today and bught dh a new soup thermus so I can make batches of soup for his lunches.

I made lunch at home!! We LOVE to eat out. We ate out yesterday & spent over $30 on lunch & wasted it. So today it is too cold to go out & I have plenty in the house. We eat out a lot.

I was trying so hard to be frugal today. I planned to bring my lunch from home, along with a thurmus of water. I left without and had to go get lunch at a local fast food restaurant. I spent almost $6.00 one of the least expensive items on the menu. I about cringed when I heard how much it was. But, I did save money at Target. I got a free Choxie chocolate bar today. I ate a piece and will save the rest for later.

I work close to a mall, and I was tempted to go into a store and get a new pair of jeans and a shirt, but I resisted temptation and drove right past. I guess that makes up for the unfrugal morning I had.
