Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. There really aren't any rules. We just put all of our spare change in a container and see how much we can save up. It's just motivation to keep us on track with saving. Its really surprising how much that change can add up. I count mine whenever the jar is getting full and I roll the coins. Some people count theirs as they put in it. Whatever works for you.

You can be saving for whatever you want, college fund, vacation, bills, anything. Just keep that change going.

I'm in on this I have been saving for a while now I am going to try saving til the end of the year and the money we save will go to like a overnight stay at a hotel with indoor pool and that but I am only going to use the change so what ever I come up with at the end of the year will be used for something family wise.

I'm usually more of a lurker than a poster, but we always save our change. About 3 or 4 years ago, we saved enough change to buy a much needed dresser for our bedroom. Last summer my husband was injured at work. He was off work and only on worker's comp pay for 3 months. Because I only work a few hours a week from home, we were living the good frugal life LOL! Part of that included cashing in our over $200 change fund to pay car insurance one month. We're saving our change now for a WDW vacation next year. We figure that it will be our "blow" money for souveniers.

Count me in, but I'm never sure how much we actually throw in there. I'm of the "I like it to be a surprise" mindset, too.

I don't use a lot of cash either but I think I'm going to start using more. Only use my debit card for gasoline and cash for the rest. DH is the big contributor to our change jar. Infact he just added a bunch when he got home yesterday so I'll probably count it this week sometime.

Okay ladies...How are we doing with our change? Anyone's adding up in a hurry?

I didn't get a chance to count mine this weekend but I'll try to count it tonight. It is getting pretty full.

I just started saving dimes, quarters, and one dollar bills since I last read this. I am already up to $15! I love this, it's easy to save money this way. I can't wait to report in later on! Sounds silly but I'd like to save for a new tub. Who knows if I will want something else later on. We also want to build a new deck too.

I don't post very often since I've gone back to work, but I thought this was such a great idea! I rounded up all the change that has been accumulating in different places around the house and took it to the grocery store to be counted last night. (The have a machine that sorts and counts). I now have $72.35, but that includes the peanut butter I took back. I think that was $12. Overall I think that was a good start!

since we are in the process of semi-remoldeling, I set goals for my change jar. For instance, I am saving right now for a $40+ knife set that I really want. So far I am up to $28.46. The change goes for small things I just can't seem to make myself buy without good reason.
