They have been accurate for me!

I get lots of books for the kids - hardback, ones w/CDs, coloring, as well as those Disney educational books. Also, some paper products, gift bags, stickers, bubbles. Its a great place for us to go to get out of the house and let the kids pick 1 treat out. They can pick anything they want in the store and I know its $1. Also, some candies and decorations are great deals around different holidays

I LOVE the Dollar Tree. I also love shopping at the Dollar General and the Family Dollar.
You just have to take your time and look at the items. Some of them look cheap, but I have found lots of stuff for gifts.

Well, i love them and hate them! I just hate them for the fact that when I have my youngest- she usually wants some junky toy that breaks when you open it. I really like it when our money is really tight and need to get a few groceries! We have about 5 within a few miles from me and 3 of them actually have a frozen food section. The Dollar Wave has the better frozen food section that has brand names that run a little bit more than $1. For the most part, when I go there I may buy a few groceries, stocking stuffers, small presents (if they are cute), school party stuff, birthday party stuff and maybe a few little decorations for the holidays- maybe a few toys (if not too junky) for "summer fun" and craft projects!

I agree about Dollar General. There is one about 35 minutes away and if I am in that area- I will usually stop in. I got my youngest a bunch of cute clothes from there when she was younger and had to go into that town about 4 times a year (I try to avoid going there!).

Its a mixed bag for me. Depends on what I'm looking for. I got tights, socks and hair stuff for my girlies there and that was a bargain. They had the exact christmas tights I was looking for, and only a buck! BUT I don't make it a habit to go there, unless I'm looking for something.

I think they are ok, but I have run across some things that are a dollar at the dollar tree and like 86 cents at Walmart for the same thing. I don't like the cheapy toys too well either, because they just break and make the kids rooms more of a mess and something I have to throw away when I clean their rooms. They are great for things like journal books and stickers, stuff like that. Some of the food is good too, cards are great as well.

It just seems like I spend way more than I planned to every time I go in there, so I try to avoid going in too often. I just need to declutter and get rid of stuff, not add more

I am kinda mixed on the dollar store. I do like getting greeting cards there. But alot of the other items are not really a good deal. If you look at the size of packages they sell. Everything is smaller. So you could just buy the same thing at Walmart you pay a little more cause you are getting more.

I may be wrong but I think you could spin the cheap labor either way. Without making the dollar store items, would they have a job at all?

I buy board, preschool activity and coloring books from the dollar general.

I love the Dollar Tree and the $.99 Cent Store. It's great for small items and household but beware that sometimes you can find things cheaper at WalMart!
