I was going to say the same thing. Our focus gets put on what we think about. So if I'm thinking about
not shopping I'm really thinking about
shopping. I have been thinking about this for about a month now. I've been trying to put my energy on where I want to be, not where I don't want it to be.
I agree that a hobby is in order. It took me ages to come up with an interesting hobby, but after getting a high end digital camera from my in-laws at Christmas, I've been researching, reading, and practicing everything photos. It puts the focus
on something rather than
away from something.
I'm also considering running. I'm in the pre planning stage for that one. I have lost 35 lbs by eating more whole grains and smaller portions but I have 15 lbs more to go for a healthy weight. So I've been looking at books on running; how to train, what to wear; how far to go at first. I figure it will give me a good focus
and have the added benefit of taking off those extra lbs. I may have to buy a jogging stroller, some clothes and a new pair of proper running shoes but it's way less expensive then shopping as a hobby.
I also agree with the others that this is a great place to come to celebrate your successes and your struggles. We are here to support and encourage you during the triumphs, trials and temptations. :high five:
