I love all holidays and tend to go overboard and Easter is no exception.
I buy plastic eggs and hide them the night before and fill them with candy (usually chocolates)...then we have a few golden eggs that are filled with quarters and the big gold egg filles with 1.00 bills.
I also do baskets. They get one chocolate bunny and a few hand fulls jelly beans. I fill them with books or barbies or lip glosses....for the boy usually playdoh or coloring books/crayons. My parents usually get them stuff to so they definitely get more then enough stuff. We usually spend the day cooking and eatting a nice big meal together and go to church and take lots of pics of us all dressed up.

I am ordering some books for my kids from Scholastic book club.
Mine are ages 5 and 1. I will get my 5yo some learning to read books
and song books and Easter books for my 1 yo.

Ds is getting his basket (we reuse the same one every year) with a big (hollow ) chocolate bunny (same company and the one my parents gave me and my brother), some jelly beans, a gumby (!!) a bathtub boat that you power with a balloon, maybe some silly putty or something like that. I need a few more odds and ends. Always a book dealing with the holiday and I think ds is getting spring/summer pj's this year too because the only ones I found that I liked were insanely expensive so I thought I'd make it a gift.

I would normaly buy a huge basket of candy and junk and this year I have decided to skip that and I am going to get my kids beach toys for Easter. I am gonna buy them each a big bucket and then fill it with sand toys and sidewalk chalk and things like that. I would end up buying these things anyways since we live so close to the beach and go so often, so I decided to get this instead, will save on needless candy and junk they wont use and will give them something they really want.

Normally I don't spend that much but this year I got them one of those inflatable water slide things. They love their bounce house so I thought they would like this too. I have a few other items I got cheap on Amazon; a music set, a scooter, roller skates. They will also get some outdoor thing like buckets, sidewalk chalk, bubbles. They get just a little candy.

Last Easter ds was only 6 months old, but he did get an EAster basket with a summery outfit, a stuffed animal, and a book about Easter. Oh, and some chocolate for Mommy!
Every year I have an EAster egg hunt for my neices and nephews. I fill most of the eggs with either coins or small pieces of candy. A few of the eggs have a ticket for a prize -- usually something I find at the dollar store.

I usually go overboard but those were my pre-frugal days so this year I think I'll do more of filling their baskets with things they actually need like sandles, tights, barettes and maybe fruit snacks or handisnacks as a snack. I don't want to buy much candy for a couple reasons - they don't need it and we still have chocolate santas at our house!!!

My favorite part of Easter morning is watching them search for their baskets. My mom always hid our baskets so I do the same. It's fun.
