I always go overboard, but that's ok!!! My kids always get t-shirts in their basket (I have a bunch up in the attic in my stash that I bought for next to nothing) They also get candy, toys, books, basically as much stuff as I can stuff into their baskets!!!!

This year we are putting in 2 new books, (she is learning to read so the level 1 readers), a tinkerbelle canteen (she is doing soccer this year so thought she would enjoy that), A chocolate bunny, some jax, a new littelest pet shop friend, a new sun dress, sandles, and then she does the egg hunt, we are hiding 32 eggs this year. SHE LOVES Searching for them. We bought the premade eggs at Walmart. We do easter at grandma and grandpa's. And they have a nice big house for the bunny to hide things in.

I am trying not to go overboard at holidays. I have made it an effort to not buy them any treats between holidays and be sensible on holidays. I have some friends whose kids want for nothing. It seemed to be ok, but now they are older and are never satisfied. What kind of adults does this make. I love to buy for my kids and see them happy. But I am raising adults right. I am convincing myself !!

That being said. They will each get a new spring outfit to wear to church. The Easter bunny will bring a basket with o course a chocolate bunny, and the traditional (peeps, jelly beans, cadbury creme eggs) and a few spring trinkets, bubbles, bouncy balls, yo yos etc.

I have 3 kids ages 13, 7, 2. I usually get them each a new swimming suit and googles and a game of some sort. This year they are really into their Nintendo DS's so we are getting them each a new game for their DS's along with the swim stuff. The 2 yr. old will get some new books instead of the game. I also put in some candy, bubbles and sidewalk chalk.

just a little bit of candy, a snack sized fruit snack, cookie snack and a pez thing, a hot wheels car and an activity book. i keep it under 10 bucks.

i will never give my kids wrapped gifts for easter - my nephews now associate easter as another gift giving opportunity & when they were over last year and saw just some candy and uno in their basket, they both were angry and said "thats IT!?"

that did it for me! i dont want my kids growing up expecting gifts for all holidays.

My dd whom will be 2 will be getting clothes, books with a library bag, socks, undies, and some choclate ( bunny, and some other small things). This is what my mom always did and I will never just do choclate. Never toys tho... it will always be things that are needed ( clothes..or educational)

I'm glad to see others put non-candy in the baskets. My husband doesn't think the girls should get gifts for Easter but I don't want to load them up on candy. I do a basket for each with a little candy and small goodies. The goodies for my 4 year old include a Kelly doll in an Easter bunny outfit, sidewalk chalk, play doh eggs, book and a Dora bubble whistle. Target had a good selection of non-candy ideas next to the Easter candy. My 16 month old is getting a stacking toy and board book. We will also have an Easter egg hunt in the yard. I will put little treats in the plastic eggs.

I'm not doing any baskets this year because we have so many from the previous years that they can hunt with those.

What I did do is purchase a big, big egg at the dollar store and I'll fill it with little knick knacks and candy for them.
