Do you buy the kids gifts for Easter? Or keep it strictly chocolate? I don't want to buy too much candy/chocolate for them, and my youngest doesn't eat anything like that anyways, so am trying to decide on a small gift (useful/fun) for each of them. My kids are 12, 9, and 3.

What do you buy for your kids and how old are they?

My kids are older. I usually give them some candy like a chocolate bunny, some reese's eggs, some jelly beans...stuff like that. But then they also get a "gift" or two (or three ). My kids are voracious readers so there's usually a book or a gift card to Borders, maybe a DVD, stuff like that. Being a person who picks up things whenever I see them, and sticking them away, I already have a fun gift for each of my kids easter baskets. My ds is a history lover, and I found a GREAT deal on a HUGE DK Atlas of History. It is really large and nice and shows all the countries and important things historically. He'll love it. It was normally about $50, but I got it CHEAP!! And my dd is in an orchestra, so I found some dangly earrings that have the treble clef symbol and the 1/16 note symbol for her. The only problem is his present is enormous and hers is teeny!!

But anyway...back to you...I'd recommend books, movies, video or board games...just stuff like that. Or you could do some outside toys since it's heating up by then....maybe jump rope, football, soccer ball, bubbles or sidewalk chalk for the little one. HTH

I have two kids ds 8 and dd 3 1/2. For my son he really only asks for toys dd though asks for clothes. Usually what I do is get a big gift $15-20 and then add some small stuff from the dollar tree.

We don't do "gifts" per se...but the easter bunny does leave baskets. Usually that includes candy, a chocolate bunny, some books, and maybe a few trinkets...hair bows, colors, etc..

The Easter bunny does bring some fun candy, etc but he also leaves shorts, tshirts, sundresses and sandals for the upcoming warmer months. Figure I'm going to buying new clothes anyway might as well make them a gift.

We don't eat candy so they don't get any of that except my mom normally sends them some junk. In their easter baskets I always put books, play doh, other art supplies. I normally pick a theme. Last year my son's was tools, so I had him a childs tool set w/ hard had in his. My dd was way into soccer last year so she had a new soccer ball and misc sports stuff. (they were 3 and 2)

Normally I get my kids things they are gonna need for the upcoming summer like pjs, snadels, sunglasess and a movie they can share.. I dont like to do alot of candy but I do add a few of there favorites to the gifts....they love it it rminds them spring is not far away...

It depends on how crazy I go. I've gone as far as to leave PJs, cool toys and lots of candy in Pottery Barn baskets one year. But after that, I decided I couldn't do that any more! I usually do a few candies, like a chocolate bunny, some candy eggs from their favorite characters, like SpongeBob or Princesses, and some small toys or useful items, like sunglasses or hair accessories.

My parents give the kids the candy, and my inlaws do the books. This year each of them is getting bubble bath, a movie, and a toy--probably a my little pony. Easter is like Christmas around here... my favorite

I've always done something similar to what's been mentioned here. The kids usually get sandals, short sets, outside toys, books, DVDS, etc. So far this year, I have two adorable bikinis I picked up from disneyshopping.com on clearance VERY cheap for DD, a paper airplane kit that I bartered for on here, some flipflops, a t-shirt, some books, a billfold for oldest DS, and few other odds and ends. I'll probably pick up a small chocolate bunny for each and some water toys. I try not to buy Easter trinkets because we just end up pitching them somewhere down the road. In the past the Easter bunny has brought sand pails instead of baskets, too! I try to make everything useful but something the kids have asked for or needed.
