Do you love coupons? Or are they not worth the effort? What are you thoughts or couponing?

I voted not worth my effort. If I see one that is over $1, maybe. Otherwise I stick to generics. I find that name brand items typically build the coupon into their pricing structure. The only way you can really save money is if you use your coupon on top of a two for one or in-store sale. For me personally, it takes too much time to clip the coupons and research where the sales are to come out ahead. I know that it can be done, and when we were on a tighter budget I used to play the coupon game. I also had more time then!

Not worth the time or the effort. I find that I clip them and then go to the store and forget them at home. The only ones that I have used religously are the $5 formula ones...and I even had one of those expire on me because I kept forgetting to use it!! I just watch what is on sale, buy one get one free items, and generics!! We also go to Sam's once a month to stock up on items that we use on a daily basis.

I don't think they are generally worth the time either!! Usually I can get generic cheaper than the name brand with a coupon and I never remember them anyway. I do not have enough time to spend to really benefit from coupons and we have no stores around here that double.

I like coupons, to me its just part of my job so I do take the time to cut and use them. My favorite part of shopping is watching my bill go down. Yes sometimes the generc brands are still cheaper but I am one to match sales with coupons! My reg. store does Double so that helps.

I'm on the fence but I do love 'em. I typically forget to use them, but I try to bring them with me while I can. I have been in the grocery store and know people who spend hours in teh store with their coupons and sales. My daycare just bought $375 worth of groceries and left the store paying $150 - with double coupons up to $1. I'm going today and hope to have as much luck as she did.

I do use them, but not so much on food. I use them more on personal hygeine products. Most of those coupons are $1 off, which adds up. If I need hair products, toothpaste, deodorant, and things like that, I can easily save $10 at a time. I usually only use my food coupons if I can match it up with a sale. We live in a small town so I only have two sales fliers to look over and match up the best deals. Plus, none of our stores do any double couponing, so there's not much work that goes into it for me. I agree that buying generic saves more money.

i use them only for cvs deals or when my grocery stores do triple coupons.

but in general, i save more not using them - alot of the stuff is extra stuff i dont need anyway (like cleaning stuff - i use bleach, vinegar, ammonia and comet)
