Definately Tightwad Gazette. It was Amy's newsletter (the basis of the book) that turned my life around.
I have "Cheaper, Better" by Nancy Birnes about making your own products for cleaning, etc. It is out of print so when you see a copy at a garage sale or thrift store, grab it.
The old books: "The Richest Man in Babylon", "Think and Grow Rich", and "How to Get Out of Debt, Stay Out of Debt and Live Prosperously"
"Personal Finance for Dummies"
For cooking, "Frozen Assets" by Debbie Taylor-Hough.
And here are a few that might be surprising ...
"The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Families" by Stephen Covey plus his other 7 habits books.
"The Merck Manual" a medical reference which can keep you out of the doctor's office or get you to go when you really need to! The same goes for "The Physician's Desk Reference of Prescription Drugs" so you can look up all your prescription medications.
Many of the Nolo Press books for legal advice, especially making your own will without an attorney.
