I heard recently that its the many small trips that are using up fuel. Now that the weather is starting to get a bit warmer, I'm back to walking the kids back and forth to school. 1 mile each way, taking them in the morning, going home, picking them up in the afternoon again, walking back again makes for a total of 4 miles for me and 2 for them. I'm hoping this helps our budget and our health.

Any other tips on saving on gas?
As soon as the weather warms up a bit here, I'm planning on walking my daughter to school. (I certainly can use the exercise!)

I am literally a hermit! I drive to Tops for my groceries and to the bank once per week. They are both about 2 miles away from my house. Tops has a program that gives you 10 cents off per gallon of gas for every dollar you spend. The program runs every 8 weeks so I fill my truck every 8 weeks (it never gets empty in between), last time I went it cost $1.69 per gallon.
