Saving Money on Gas - Page 2

i was able to go to town 2 times a week when gas was a little cheaper but since it is up to $2.50 again(and i only give myself 15 bucks a week for my van) thursdays we go to town and do all our grocery shopping library visit ect...(its about 25 miles one way) and we are back to doing things at home in the back yard..if i really need something dh gets it on the way home.

Now that the weather is starting to get a bit warmer, I'm back to walking the kids back and forth to school. 1 mile each way, taking them in the morning, going home, picking them up in the afternoon again, walking back again makes for a total of 4 miles for me and 2 for them. As soon as the weather warms up a bit here, I'm planning on walking my daughter to school. (I certainly can use the exercise!)

I am literally a hermit! I drive to Tops for my groceries and to the bank once per week. They are both about 2 miles away from my house. Tops has a program that gives you 10 cents off per gallon of gas for every dollar you spend. The program runs every 8 weeks so I fill my truck every 8 weeks (it never gets empty in between), last time I went it cost $1.69 per gallon.
