I'm breaking out really bad since I stopped using my "foo-foo" $25 a bottle cleanser and $35 moisturizer. I know the seasons changing too because at night it's hot and by the morning it's freezing.

Any ideas? What about homemade facials?

Thanks!

I too switched from the expensive stuff to plain old Nuetrogena face wash ($6) and moisturizer ($10) which to me is still a lot. But I have to say it has been working just as well. I have had little luck with homemade facial though--they actually made me breakout.

i dont use make up, and my dermatologist said not to use any skin care products other than a moistuizer with a sunscreen. i dont wash my face with soap, just splash with water, and it stays moist from its natural oils all year round... and since i'm not clogging my pores with junk like "cleaners", moisturizers (which you need to use because you strip off your skin's natural moisture with the expensive cleaners), i never ever break out. nothing is more free than water

I'm not a makeup wearer either. I wonder if ellelit'soutine would work for me?

I also don't use a cleaner to wash, just water, no soap. It seems to work okay. I use Neutrogena moisturizer with SPF, year round. Works well and keeps it simple. I do wear makeup, but nothing heavy. I really like the Everyday Minerals. I ordered the samples from their website for I think the cost of shipping. It has lasted several months for just the samples!

Nuetrogena with SPF is a good non-heavy brand? Any others?

I don't wear makeup either and I wonder if not using soap would help with my break outs. It's worth a try. I usually use Neutrogena cleanser and Oil of Olay moisturizer.

thanks funnelcake, I am supposed to by saving money and now I went to the Everyday Minerals website and ordered my free sample kit, (just the price of shipping) so $3.67 is not bad, can't wait to see how it works

A good moisterizing facial I do is to take some dry powdered milk, add enough water to make a paste out of it, and rub it on my face. My skin always feels really good afterwards. I use baby wash for my face, and then any cheap face moisterizer I have on hand...usually the equate version of Oil Of Olay.

I also went and order the Everyday Minerals. Right now I use MaryKay and I'm not really happy withit but I'm a consultant I hate to try someting else because I can buy my stuff at cost. This way if I don't like it I'm only out the $3.67.
