I read how you all eat more cheaply by meal planning and sticking to it. I am terrible at this!

Could some of you post your meal plans? Weekly or bi-weekly would be great! I feel like we eat the same things all the time and still have waste.
What kinds of things do you cut out all together to save money? PLUS, I find it really hard to eat healthy AND cheap.

TIA!

Here is the link for the March Menu in the cooking forums.

March Menu

We do not necessarily eat healthy all of the time but I do plan our meals every month. I go with a shopping list for that weeks menu items and only buy that plus the staples like fresh veggies and fruit, milk and bread. I am home all day so I also pick up simple things for breakfast and lunch. Sandwich meat, mac n cheese, waffles, eggs and cereal. I also buy limited snacks for the kids and instead of giving them juice all day like I used to they love having their own water bottle to carry around and drink from whenever they want. This has saved us a lot of money and I am hoping that March is going to save us even more than February did!

Hope this helps!

Here is a site with lots of frugal recipes.

Just about any vegetarian meal - try going meatless a day a week

Might sound like cheating but we use last months scholl calender for lunches a lot. Normally we use 3 of the 5 days of their menus for ideas and since they have a well balanced menu plan it makes my life a little easier

I was having a hard time with this too, but what I did was have everyone list 4-5 of their favorite meals for breakfast lunch and dinner and spread them out over 2 wks because I shop every 2 wks. We haven't had any of the same meals. I made a 2 wk calender and listed every meal for the plan on it and posted it on the refrigerator. This step alone has helped tremendously cause each night while I am cleaning up I will look at the menu for the next day and make sure and get the stuff out for it, instead of it sitting on the desk and I just pull something from the freezer cause I wasn't all the way sure what was planned.
