My husband and the girls have insurance but I do not. It was almost 400 a month just for me. Besides I found that I only went to a doctor once maybe twice a year so it would have been way cheaper just to pay out my pocket for those vistits.

MIght I sugest that you look into getting a major medical only policy,Since your more standard needs are already met.

Listen Im not suggesting anyting but I want to tell you that those major disasters arent always as bad as others may make you think. When you are uninsured their are many ways to get the help you need. When my first dd was born I didnt have health insurance. I paid out of pocket for all prenatal care 1,200.00. The deleverly and hospital were seperate.
1,500.00 for a epidural, I wouldnt have gotten it if I had thought it would cost that much.
DD was in neonatal icu for two weeks - the bill a giant 50,000. I didnt have to pay a dime of it.

I would have to be one of the people to say get it. My FIL retired didn't get health inc and then went back to work and just after he got his new inc found out he has cancer. There is no telling what could happen. Also I am sure of it that most colleges that make you have "THEIR" inc have a waver sheet that you have to fill out every semester adn then they will waive it when you show proof that you do have it.

we have health insurance and we need it for sure it has since paid for itself every year we have had....

may i suggest to you that you get a catostophic policy it has a really high deductible but if there was a major event it would help you out...check into then you could use the university and then have that as a back up.
