if there was an incredible sale, like on meat?

I'm always torn about this. I only shop 2x a month, so if there is a sale on chicken or whatever that last week of the month (and I'm out of grocery money), I'm always tempted to go over budget and just subtract from my next month.

Anyone every get into this dilemma?

I think I would only if it's a sale that doesnt happen often, like this week I'm stocking up on brisket since it's on sale for .99/lb. And it seems like it's only on sale this low once a year. Things like chicken, ground meat, steaks - I usually don't becasue they go on sale periodically.

That's exactly what I do. If I know it will save money in the long run, I'd do it and just be sure I spend less later.

Yup I do the same thing. I also try to leave a little wiggle room or take away from another budget if I have too to try and keep things even. I went out yesterday and bought a ton of corned beef too cuz it was only 1.27 lb. Thats cheap for here! I spent $28 on meat. hehe

I would if it were a really good sale. I would just spend less the next month. I wait until my supply starts getting low before I stock up again though.

I have a seperate budget for this. I have 50 dollars for the stockup found. Every month I put 50 in an evelope that is to be used only if their is an awsome sale. IF I dont use it then i leave it for next month

i have in a jar $60 bucks for meat sales if i use it on a good sale i put 5 bucks a week back in there until i have the $60 bucks again that way i'm not in the position of having to go overbudget and subtract from somewhere else.. thats what works for me i got the $60 bucks by doing the 5 bucks a week until i had a good amount..

Wow, I guess I don't budget that closely. I defintely buy it if is a good sale and I know it will save me money. I don't buy that much meat though.
