I'm like that too. I'm also most tempted to spend money when I'm bored.

When I find a good deal on the clearance rack! I am a clearance junkie. I have to get my fix! I do try to only buy things that I will need or use soon.

For some reason i am more likely to impulse shop during PMS.I just get these overwhelming urges to shop during that time and i don't know why? We don't always have the extra money to do alot of "just because" shopping, so i try to distract myself with a good book or cleaning out a closet or something.

This is my time to overpsend also.. I think its because I get REALLY emotional during PMS and so I will try my best to not go to any store, I even have problems at the groery store this time of the month..

I agree with the PMS, I can easily over spend then. Also when I'm beginning a new craft project that I'm passionate about, for example a new quilt. My excitement can take over my brain and I'm in the fabric shop, blown some cash, back home again.... then going OMG what did I do?

When my kids are having problems is another big trigger. I have an 8 year old autistic son. He's been bullied at school all year, the school is fantastic in sorting it out, but I still feel broken hearted for him. Last week I had a talk with his class aid, then went to pay bills. I wandered around the shops for two hours almost in tears worrying about him, but I didn't want to go home. This is my trigger time. I realised it and all I bought was a sweet little book for $7.95, it's about sharing the little things that mean so much between family and friends. I was SO proud of myself that I realised I wanted to blow some money but I didn't.

I find that I overspend when I see the clearance racks .... especially for next year clothes for the kiddos. I would find that I would forget I put it up in the attic and rebuy. So I have stopped.

If I am bored I read, go for a walk ..... that is when I spend too much.

I spend way too much when I'm bored.

While I have my many hobbies, I find if I am bored with them I am so quick to hop in the car and go on a shopping spree. I am trying to change all that now and finding that most of my boredom is really just a mindset that I need to adjust.

Easier said than done though!

Kids clothes at the change of season. I'm a sucker for cute kids clothes. Especially pricey cute kids clothes.

I only overspend when I find EXCELLENT deals at Goodwill. I just spent about $100.00 this weekend. of course, more than one of these items is normally $100. by itself.

also, and this is when I get stuff I don't need and over spend, when I am HURT by dh. Not just mad at him for doing something dumb but hurt by his insensitivity, feeling unappreciated. I will go everywhere not just the thrift store.
