~ A flowering bulb 'forced' from the grocery store in a pot before they are blooming outside - I love hyacinth and got one a few weeks ago for $3.99. It was still snowing outside but my hyacinth was blooming inside and smelled so much like spring .

~ Flowers from Aldi's. Last week I got a bouquet of 6 roses with baby's breath for $2.99! They included the floral preservative and they lasted easily a week. Keep three together, put them in a vase and put that in the kitchen. I take two more out, put them in a vase, put them in the family room. I take the last one, put it in a vase, and put it in the bathroom. My ds loves when I do this!! It looks beautiful and so 'fancy'!

~ Dollar Tree CD's. I've always had consistently good luck with these, either the classical music, the 'new age' music or piano and guitar. My ds loves one called, "Tropical Oasis" which just a recording of birds and bugs from 'the rainforest'. No music but very relaxing! And only $1!

~ Dh goes to some fancy hotels for business and I insist on him taking all the 'samples'. He usually comes up with some really good ones, and they are for free! A few months ago his room even had a cd player and a free 'peaceful sleep' cd that he could take home!

~ When I'm feeling really frugal but still want a treat, I will go through the Mcdonalds drive thru and get two hamburgers and a small fries. I'll go home and put my OWN cheese on mine and nuke it until it melts - saves - what at least a quarter? Then I'll have just a few fries and give the rest to ds.

That's all I can think of now!!

A fresh flower in a vase (free if from my yard)
a berry smoothy from Costco ($1.50 ish)
A hot bubble bath
a Tyler votive candle in French Market (about $1.50)
A new bottle of nail polish in a great color
A long distance call to my best friend
In the wintertime- "Designer coffee" from QT (.49 cents in winter- all sizes) other time of year they start at 89 cents. In my book , this is just as good as starbucks.
A piece of trendy jewlery from our local import store (Sam Moon)
A walk through the Botanic Garden in Spring - free here
A great book (try half.com for some great bargains- but be sure and figure in shippingJ)
A hand car wash ($5 from Rapid Wash in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area)
BlueBell ice cream in Moolinium Crunch
a trip to the 99 cent store to buy five things I didn't know I needed- when I am done, I feel like I have been "shopping."
Also, try taking those five items from the 99 cent store and making a basket for someone else. Deliver it anonymously- it will make your spirits soar!
