Kim's indulgences thread got me to thinking. I love wine and used to work in the business, but I can't afford to drink $15-20 bottles the way I used to before the kids came along and I stopped working. We should all post our favorite wine buys. I know that wines are not always available everywhere due to distributorship rights, but it will give us an idea of new things to try. I am listing 750 ml bottles as that's what I buy:

Pacific Peak Chardonnay, $3.99
Wine Bandits Pinot Grigio, $4.99
Canyon Oaks Cabernet, $4.49
Pacific Peak Cabernet, $3.99
Canyon Oaks Shiraz, $4.49
DeBeaune Connoisseur White, $4.99
DeBeaune Connoisseur Red, $4.99

I have tons of deals in the $5.99 to 9.99 range, but I rarely spend that much. Anyone interested in them, feel free to ask.

I just recently found a wine I like

Moscato (sp) I think the GAllo Family falls into the under $5 (I don't know the exact price since I bought the bigger size for about 8)

I like Zinfadel (sp) too as well as fruit ones such as Arbor Mist. I'm just getting back into drinking after 4 years of pregnancy and nursing!

I don't know of any wines that I like that are under $5. All of the Yellow Tail wines are in the $6.00-$7.00 range and all are really good. I've found them on sale for $4.99, but rarely. My favorites are the Shiraz and the Chardonnay. An employee at a wine store once told me that Austrailian wines are really under-rated, but really good at a good value.

I like sweet wines which generally seem to be cheaper.

Some I enjoy:
Sutter Home Moscato
Wild Vines- all varieties
Arbor Mist- all varieties
Reunite Lambrusco

I like to go also to my local orchards and winery and buy the local wines. They are good and very inexpensive.

I like white zins, and my two favorites are Kokopelli and Berringers, no matter what the price. One bottle of Berringers at the grocery store costs less than one glass in a restaurant.

DH likes the expensive ones.... I think they taste horrible! I am not a drinker, but about once every few months I will pick up some arbor mist and have a few sips. I like the fruity ones!
