I am planning a slumber birthday party for my oldest in mid May. Her actual birthday is not until July 5th so it is always easier for us to do it while school is still in session (no one is around during that time of the year it seems!).
Anyways- I am trying to have her party on the cheap side. I already have a few ideas of what they can do and already have a few little things for the party (all under $5 so far!- I got something cool at Joann's on sale for $2.50- it is themed party decor for 8, it included 8 cups, napkins, placemats, sticker sheets, treasure rings, mini posters with markers, 6 flag toothpicks and a center piece. I also got a set of 6 glitter gloss for a party favor for $2.). So for the most part- we decided that we would have pizza, drinks, popcorn and a pancake breakfast (have all the stuff on hand at all times usually). She already picked out a few movies for them to watch (Sleepover, Devil Wears Prada and a few others), but figured that they would do things while watching movies.
Do you think just the one craft would be fine, or do you think I should try to get another thing for them? My DD would love to have them be able to make their own lipgloss (but I can't find any reasonably priced kits) and I was curious if anyone has any suggestions on any other "party bag" items that are cute and not too expensive (and I don't mean the cheapy throw away things)? For the bag itself I think I may go to the local chinese restuarnt and ask if they are willing to sell any new takeout boxes (something cute and different!). BTW, there will only be 6 girls, that is including my girls (the oldest one is not to happy about her little sister hanging around- but it is inevitable!). Any ideas are welcomed and appreciated! TIA!
