there is no right or wrong with the lay out of your pricebook.
Just track the products that your family consumes. Some sort by name brand and then list stuff like size, price, coupon, final price and price per oz. Then after a few months of enteries, you'll be able to see what the heapest price is for X product and you stock up when that is on sale
I've never had the patience to do one and since I get my grocery list online I don't have to do it because they do it for me.
Unfortunately, I've never found a good template that already exsists online. However, complete twightwad gazette talks about theirs.
