Now that we're talking about Christmas, my dh & I discuss this issue every year and we always wind up agreeing to disagree:

Does Santa wrap his gifts or leave them out (displayed under the tree)? Our compromise is that 1 gift gets displayed and the other gets wrapped.

All gifts get wrapped and put under the tree except Santa's. His gets "Santa" wrap and gets delivered by the man himself.

Funny you say this...my DH and I have always had the same conversation. Santa wrapped all of his when he was young, and Santa never wrapped any of mine - However I was an only child.

Our Santa did many years of not wrapping. Only beacuse "Santa" at our house didn't have elves and "Santa" worked a FT job. Once "Santa" stayed home all the time, the decision was made to start wrapping. That, and the fact that after 4 kids, all girls, all thinking they like the same things, it was easier to tell who's was who's on Christmas morn.

I have been presuaded over to the wrapping side of things..only presents though, not items in the stocking. "Santa" won't be changing her mind on that one.

No, Santa gifts are left out. We open all of our gifts on Christmas morning. Leaving Santa’s gifts unwrapped let’s the kids tell what Santa brought and what we gave them.

This is how it is in my house too. Santa started doing that for us when we decided to cut back on Christmas spending. It helps prolong the whole opening process. Santa's presents are always wrapped in paper with his picture on it so we all know that Santa put it under the tree on Christmas Eve.

We have this same disagreement every year on Christmas Eve. I then tell dh that Santa can wrap, there is the paper and then we display. Our Santa makes a huge display about how the presents are presented. He has a special area for each of the kids so there is no confusion on everybody's presents. It is a major deal that I take pictures of every year. Everything has to be put together and out of the boxes. Santa then leaves the boxes in Mommy's room in case we need them.

I don't have time to wrap Santa's presents! Too many other things to do that time of year.

Well,

I guess Santa changes his mind each year around here, now that I think about it.

Last year, gifts both girls got from Santa were not wrapped, in case it was big sis that asked and little sis opened hers first--

But some Santa gifts were wrapped. And stocking stuffers aren't wrapped.

This is what we do. I only have 2, and their interests are very different so it is obvious which "pile" is for whom. Santa doesn't wrap stocking stuff either!!

I think this should be one of those pre-marital questions every couple should discuss because every year we disagree on it. When I was young that is how our Santa did it, and his santa didn't. I think I have him won over, and even prepare him to be ready to put so and so together. He balks every year, but ends up doing it anyway. Ho Ho Ho.

No wrapping from Santa at our house. He brings one "big" gift to each child, set out seperately in front of the rest of the gifts, and then he fills stockings, too. All other gifts are from Mommy and Daddy, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc AND each year, we let the kids draw names of each other, and they buy only one sibling a piece a special gift from them. It is SO much fun to scurry around trying to help everyone pick out a gift but keep it a secret from who they picked out of the hat! We all go at the same time, and it is hilarious. PRICELESS memories! LOL

Yup! And now that the wrapping paper questions have started.... Mommy will buy the wrapping paper and some bows and Santas elves wrap! And each child has a different wrapping paper (ie last year DD had Princess while DS had Spiderman). The only thing Santa's elves won't wrap is the little stocking stuffers...There's just not enough time in their very busy night to do it!
