Unfortunately I spend money almost every day. I am a pop addict and I need my ciggys. I really need to cut down on this and bring drinks from home. The only problem with that is I cannot drink warm soda so if it is not cold it is no good to me.

i only spend money on thursdays(thats my grocery goodwill gas day) and occasionaly we as a family will go someplace on the weekend to do something and spend a very little amount of money. i take snacks and drinks in my car always its way cheaper from home.(i use a car cooler/heater that you plug into your cigarette lighter fil got it for us two years ago for christmas and we use it all the time.(the only problem is for the snacks we have to pull over somewhere because i don't allow eating in the car)

I don't, as long as I don't leave the house. If I am out I am constantly thinking of things I "need". I just stay at home now unless I have no choice.

I'm glad to see that having a pop habit is pretty common. I know that if I would buy cans/bottles and bring them from home it would be cheaper but then I know that I would be drinking it at home too. We keep very little junk food in the house (usually cheese crackers or animal crackers). So by buying a pop 3-4 times a week I'm hurting my wallet but saving my waistline! I just need to cut it out all together!!!

Yeah I pretty much do. I know I could consolidate some of my errands but sometimes they just pop up. Like yesterday I had to go and get a gift for a wedding shower and the day before I got groceries, and today I have to get gas and I'm out of milk. Its always something. But atleast its not always just no good no reason shopping like it used to be. Its stuff I need to do it just gets spread out.

I have been trying this, severly cutting back how often I go out. So I don't spend money every day, in fact I can go 6 days with spending none, but then on Day 7 oh man watch out! I tend to explode and spend even more than had I shopped all week, but it still is beneficial to keep the kids out of the stores and have more meaninful time with them rather than hussling them to target etc like I would have done a couple years ago!

I don't spend every day, but most days there is something that I have to shell out money for. Just being aware of how much I'm spending and trying not to do it mindlessly helps me not overdo it!

This is a great thread!! I thought I was alone wanting to get a pop from the drive-thru or convenience store when I go out. To have a no-spend day, it seems like I have to stay home.

Staying home doesn't necessarily help me not spend....I have things in 3 online shopping carts right now! Of course, I won't buy them all, it is like window shopping . I probably won't spend anything today, I know I spent nothing yesterday, and the day before, so I guess I am doing pretty good (DH on the other hand...).
