Scrapbooking supplies!
I have enough stuff to last a lifetime, yet I just spent $150 on new stuff today. I had promised myself that I would not buy anything more for a few months. That lasted about three weeks.
Here's a little background info on my financial situation. My husband and I have quite a bit of debt. We started Consumer Credit Counseling about a year ago. It was the best thing we could have done and I actually don't wake up in a panic about our credit card debt anymore. Anyways, I have made huge improvements in my spending habits during the last year (thanks in part to reading all the posts here). I really try to evaluate if what I'm buying is a want or a need, but today all self control flew out the window. I needed everything!
Oh well, I guess I better go scrapbook. Thanks for the vent!

I feel your pain, since I have similar problems with yarn. I'm working hard to reduce my spending, but temptation is everywhere!

I don't know much about scrapbooking supplies, but maybe you can go through your stash and sell some items you're not going to use on Ebay. In the knitting world, we have lots of online swapping where you can trade what you don't need for stuff you want. Maybe there are similar things in the scrapbooking community?

Oh no! Can you maybe take some of it back?? That's a lot of money to spend in one setting on scrapbook supplies. I know I could do the same thing easily but we've been in trouble and don't want to go back there. It's so hard to decide between wants and needs at times. Good luck!

Just an idea, but try trading some of your old extras on this board, after you reach fifty posts and have your info checked by a moderator! I have gotten rid of a ton that I didn't need..and traded for things I DID need (sometimes for scrapbooking, sometimes for kids' clothes, etc!).

Thanks for all the advice. I'm actually taking somethings back today. In the future when I am in the mood to buy new stuff I'll set up a swap with my scrap group. That way I'll feel like I'm getting new stuff while getting rid of other stuff.
I also just had a friend ask me to make her a bunch of cards she can buy. That should make up for some of it.
