Hi Ladies!

I think I haven't really saved up to make a purchase in a very long time. Like, the last time I can remember having done this is when I was 10 and saved up to buy my 10-speed bike. (ok I'm not including saving up for our house down-payment, which we did for YEARS before buying).

Anyway, I've been doing a little tutoring in the past few weeks and have kept the cash in a little box, and it's adding up! It's so exciting - because now that I'm home with ds all the time and not earning money, and we have a new mortgage, living on one salary, etc., we just don't have the extra cash that we used to. And we found a cabinet that we really want for the living room, but it's gonna cost around 550 Euro ($700?) Anyway, I've saved up enough to go order the cabinet now - 30% of purchase price - and then by the time it's ready, I should have the rest!

I'm having so much fun with this - it's funny how such a simple system can provide a good reward.

What have you saved up for recently?

Congratulations! That's fantastic! I just started saving for a kitchen table. I've been putting all our lose change in a jar and if my weekly grocery bill is under the "budgeted amount" then I get the difference in cash and put it in the jar too! It's encouraged me to try and save as much as I can at the store with coupons and not buying stuff we don't need. My little savings is growing steadily! Thanks for your success story!
