So far I have spent $165 on registering my kiddos for summer activites! That is for 5 kids though. DD has a volleyball, ds #2 & #3 have tennis lessons, ds #2 has Chineese lessons, ds #4 has a rec program and dds #5 has a tot-lot rec program. I think it is money well spent though. I just have to save a bit in other areas, now. How do you decide if it is worth it or not?

I think $165 for 5 kids is a huge bargain! I spend way more than that on just one kid~! Obviously, it depends on the activities, where you're doing them etc

Just depends on you and your family if you think it's 'worth it'...kwim? We've got swim team this summer that I just paid for last week and since we're in a new community, I had to pay for them to swim here, even though, they're paid thru August at our old house. I can't get that money back. Oh well! That's just the way the cookie crumbles...they love to swim, it's great exercise etc It's definately worth it to us.

My older son is doing a few weeks of sleepaway camp, and he's really looking forward to it. I guess I won't know that it's worth it til he gets back and tells me how it went - I'm hoping he has a fabulous time though!

My younger son is wanting to try a few things for the first time, he's trying to narrow things down a bit.

I think summer is great, fun to try new things but also fun to relax and just chill out and do 'nothing' too. So we try to find a good balance of both.

For that many children I think you did awesome! My kids arent doing activities this Summer, but their gymnastics along costs me over 200.00 for just 2 and a half months. I think summer activities are worth the money if the kids really enjoy what theyre doing.

I wish they had more activities around here for summer!! Dd is still young enough to join the summer recreation program but she doesn't like sports, that is all the offer. DS is too old for them now, though i do keep encouraging him to get a job coaching tball or something for the summer, he would be good at that.

Wow, you did great. I spent $200 on DD alone for her art lessons. I'm glad we can do this for her but spending that money was a bit of an 'ouch!'

You got a great deal in my opinion. Congrats. I paid $165 for the 3 week long sessions at the Science Station for my oldest. Plus there's swimming lessons I need to pay for.

Wow! Sounds like a great deal. Your kids are lucky to have a caring mom to arrange things for them.

My daughter is enrolled in summer camp at regular preschool. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she will like it since it will be with different teachers and 2-5 year olds instead of her class of 3-4 year olds.

The camps are $150 per session. Each session is for 2 weeks, 1/2 day M-F.

She tried a class at The Little Gym but she didn't like it.

I think if they really put their all into the activity, enjoy it, and gain something from the experience then its worth it.
