I knew we were running low on money since our expenses are much higher since we moved and I no longer work full time, but this is bad!!! Our acct is way overdrawn and payday is not until Tuesday!!! I had to drive 25 miles to go to Sam's so I could use my Sam's Discover card and get cash back to tide us over. I had promissed the kiddos we would go to the school carnival tonight, so I had to have some cash for that. We did well, 5 kids had fun at the carnival for only $10.50. But I am so upset, we have no money!!!!NONE! I am going to start working more, and we will be listing some stuff on Craigslist. We will be better off since I paid off one car last month and the van is paid off next month. I told dh that we can only buy necessities and he claims that is all we have been doing. I think our idea of necessities has changed so much over the years that we seriously need to re-evaluate. I just hate this!!!!

I'm sorry you are so down right now! It sounds like you are going through a hard time but there's light at the end of the tunnel. You said yourself that with your cars paid off, things will improve. I know exactly where you are with that hopeless feeling and when I feel that way, I try to remind myself of what I have.

Oh wow, that stinks!! We are kinda in the same boat, Last month I worked a ton of extra hours and dh got overtime every week. I got lots of bills paid and even got us a tiny bit ahead. Now this month has started and I havn't gotten any extra hours, NOR has dh gotten much OT. He got paid today and only got .75 for OT!! YIKES! I did warn him a few days ago, that May was going to be TIGHT and he better tighten up that belt strap. HOpefully June will be better, I'm getting a new schedule and extra hours every week. That will definatley help! And he should hopefully start getting OT again as the other guys start going on summer vacations.

I'm sorry, that's awful! It is good news that your kids still got to enjoy themselves and your vehicles will be paid off freeing up extra money! Have you read Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover, that book changed my life! Craigslist is a great idea for quick cash, or you could even through an impromptu yard sale this weekend to tide you over until payday, that is what I would do! Good Luck!

I'm so sorry, I know how stressful that is. We were in the same boat from Dec until just last week when we got our tax return. I felt like I was treading water just enough to keep my head above water. It will work out. I'm really proud of you for taking your kids out and having fun so inexpensively. There are lots of free things to do with them. Keeping you in my prayers and sending big hugs.

I know exactly how you feel, we are in the same situation. We are way overdrawn on our checking and last week our water was shut off. Thank god we have a very good friend that lives next to us that payed to have our water turned back on and told us not to pay him back. I could not go without paying him back but it will be awhile before we have the money to give him. We also got a shut off for our eectric today so I have to call on Monday and talk to them to see if I can make payment arrangements. I know it is hard but we just have to keep our head sup and work through this. Things will get bettter eventually. :hugs:
