Lions Club helps out with glasses

Our eye MD has donated frames available - depending on insurance/income they will either give them away or ask for a donation that is given to the Lions Club.

Eyemasters - you have to pay for the warranty, but I think it's for 1 yr. They are cheaper, especially if you can talk to the manager about when the sales will be - may be willing to cut you a break.

JUST make sure the manager checks them out - I found out almost a year later, thru another Dr. (and had it double checked by a third while I was there) that they made my lenses too strong. They screwed up. Have the lenses checked.

Also, Nationwide Vision has overstocks and closeouts sold to them for less, so they can be a bargain...customer svc. isn't the best, but depends on location. Again, watch the accuracy. Any independent Dr. can check that quickly on their machine for free. It takes maybe 20 seconds.

Not sure what your insurance situation is, but every vision plan I've ever had usually has a choice of % off contacts -or - free glasses from a provided selection. Usually they are on the ugly side, but they get the job done and are at no cost.

Good luck...
