Please share ideas for frugal fathers day gifts. The kids are not in school in June so we don't get all the school made projects, so it is up to me to figure things out!!! I need ideas!!!

Unless this is something you do all the time, have them bake his favorite cookies or treats along with hand made cards.
If he has an office, get a frame from Walmart that has spaces for 3 or 4 pictures, and have the kids make drawings to fit inside.

I usually get my Dad a shirt or Dh comes up with a good idea for some sort gadget that he thinks my Dad will like...we've also done things like magazine subscription, a book my Dad might like, newspaper subscription from the small town we used to summer in growing up, slippers, nice pen etc My Dad really isn't very sentimental, so he wouldn't really appreciate anything the kids would make...that's just not the type of person he is (I am not one of those people either). When the kids were small, I would get a frame with a wide matt in it and then put the kids foot prints or hand prints on the matt and a picture in the frame. My Dad always liked those and hung them in his office.

For Dh, it just depends year to year what we get him. It's hard because Dh has no hobbies and when he needs something, he just buys it. We usually get him clothes for work. Not really a frugal tip but that's what we end up doing.

A fishing Linsense, Hey its the gift we can give every year and using it as a fathers day gift keeps DH from just going out and buying one anyway. I am sure when Bethy is older then 13months she will make daddy something

this year now that my daughter is old enough i'm gonna get a large piece of oak tag and a long rectangular frame and have my kids put their handprints on it with there names and ages underneath the oldest can write his own name and then i'm gonna paint nicely the words " hands down best dad 2007 ". so that is what i will do this year....

Well this is my answer for last year and this year!

I have the kids do a hand/foot collage for DH. He loves them and it's a good way to have a record of their growing as the years pass. Other than that, they make him cards, serve him breakfast in bed and give him lots of hugs and kisses throughout the day!

We are making Dh's favorite oatmeal raisin cookies and my 5 yr old ds wrote this poem: It took him about an hour to copy it! But, he loved doing it...
Daddy, I made these special cookies just for you
To thank you for all you do
I added lots of sugar because you’re so sweet
You deserve this delicious treat
A little bit of vanilla because you add flavor to my days
I can’t even begin to count the ways
A teaspoon of cinnamon to spice up the dough
Because you always pick me up when I feel low.
I’ve also added some things you cannot see,
But they’re important, I’m sure you’ll agree
A cup of love and some great big hugs
But let’s hope there aren’t any bugs!
