I am SO not like this...but I went to Goodwill this morning for some books. (I detest paying full price for books, so I always try to buy there first!) Anyhow, when I came out, a man was pulling in to donate some toys....a bike, a few little things, and a Little Tykes Cozy Coup Car. Well, our church is always looking for those type of ride on cars for the Mother's Day Out program and/or SS classes. So, I went to him, asked if he was giving it to Goodwill, and would he consider selling it to me?!?! He looked at me like I was a nutcase, but when I told him it was for my church, he just pushed it toward me and told me to take it. I think he was sort of saying, "Here lady...just go away!"!!! But, it was in LIKE NEW shape, and my church really did need it. I brought it right up there, and the kids in the MDO were so excited to get a new car! It did my heart good...and whether he thinks he did or not, he did a really good deed, too!!!

I used to be in the crowd that says, "I could never do that!"...but in recent years, I figure, "Hey!? Who cares if they think I'm nuts? I'll probably never see them again until I get to Heaven!"

That is AWESOME, Jennifer!! I bet those kids were super excited!

My mom always taught me to ask because the worst thing that can happen is that someone will say no. I used to be too chicken to do this. One time when we had just built our last house and were in the middle of landcaping our yard, my mom's neighbor down the street was redoing her yard. She had a dumpster out front that was loaded to the top with gorgeous flagstone. She was just going to throw it all away! My mom hardly knew her, but she marched up to her door and asked if her daughter could have it if we hauled it off. She said take it and it made the most beautiful pathway and patio for us. We priced it after we got it from her and it was about $3,000 worth of flagstone!!! So yep, now I ALWAYS ask. LOL

Congrats on the cozy coupe. Good score!
