I learned a huge lesson in walking away- because I received a 40% off coupon from that store a few days ago. I went back AND the dress was on clearence!! I ended up paying $ 6.80 for it! I couldn't believe it! It pays to walk away at times!
Wow! Hooray for you, that is fantastic!

We recently bought a nice new cabinet for our LR/DR area, to store just about everything. That includes wine bottles, since now that ds is crawling we don't want them out on display anymore. I figured that instead of buying a customized wine rack for the inside of the cupboard, I could just get more shelves from the furniture store and have 5 shelves for storing wine bottles.

so I went back to the store we got the cabinet from and asked how much the shelves would be... 22 Euro each - that would be 66 Euro for my "custom wine rack". Not worth it! Next time I'm at the hardware store I'll have the guys working in the sawing-service go through the scraps and cut a few to fit. And I'll stain them to match by myself. Shouldn't cost me more than 10 Euro.

(and yesterday I also had a bit of a free splurge: a family at my school was moving away and had many things for sale and a few free items. I stopped by and picked up a bookshelf, a standing lamp and a very sweet little cabinet for the laundry room. ALL FREE!)

l was at Walmart on Sunday, looking at the shoes. I saw these really cute sandals that I could use for work or casual that were only $8. They had red, taupe, black and brown. Well, black and brown are my colors to have since I wear alot of those colors. I immediately was going to get both of those plus I really liked the red shoes. I have a skirt and top that have red in them and would look fabulous with them. I started thinking that I already have 3 pairs of black sandals, 2 pairs of brown sandals. I decided I would get the taupe and brown. Well, I carted them around the store with me and when I got up to the cash register, I told the lady that I did not want the brown ones and only got the taupe ones. I felt really good.

I have one already. Today, I was shopping for our summer pool supplies. The goggles my kids want were 'staring' me in the face. I even picked up three pair, but didn't buy any! Yay for me!

Today the Schwan man came and I didn't buy anything from him (which is rare!) OK I don't go crazy on Schwan foods, but I do spend about $60 a month (mostly on Pizza's, ice cream or his specials of the week). He comes every other Tuesday, and I wanted to get some more pizza's and things, but I resisted!

I was seriously tempted today with two things.

A Landsend swimsuit for dd and a sun-dress for me. We do not need these. I found my mind thinking about them, how cool it would feel, how good I would feel in it, what shoes I had to wear with it. DD already has one swimsuit which dries fast enough. She doesn't need two.

Then I thought I won't buy them and I'll celebrate not buying them by posting here.

I went to DSW over the weekend and didn't buy all five pairs I picked up. I cut the stack down to two pair that were on sale that would get the most use. Only $40 for the two pair! I can't remember the last time I spent so little there!

We went to Kohls last night and they had a ton of winter clothing maternity clearance. So I did buy some things- 3 shirts 2 pairs of jeans and a dress (all for under $35!). I really, really wanted to buy some baby cloths too, but I didn't! There weren't any clearance items for winter left- just regular/sale priced items that weren't really that great of a deal...
