This is really small, but I was really in "need" of some coffee on Friday and was out and about, and really super tempted to stop at Starbuck's. I beat the temptation, got home and made a pot of my own coffee. Instead of spending $4.00 for a triple, iced Carmel Machiato (mmmmm.....), I spent probably .75 or so on 4 cups. Does anyone know of a good iced coffee recipe? Like the bottled Starbuck's drinks?

On the way to dropping off a load at Salvation Army I drove past my favorite consignment shop for kid's clothes, and they were having a sidewalk summer sale. I kept driving, yeah.

I make my own ice coffee but it's probably not nearly as good as starbucks.

I make a pot of coffee the strength I like it and then pour it into ice cube trays ~ having the coffee ice is really the key to this not get 'watery'

I like making it one cup at a time so it's fresh. I make two cups of coffee, add 1-2 Tbps half and half cream (10%), and two packets of splenda. Let cool. Pour into tall glass, add coffee ice cubes and yummo.

I badly wanted ice cream last night, but didn't get any. I don't know to be proud or cry (I LOVE my ice cream).

I looked at a DP 1940s dining room table and chairs. I didn't buy it. I am still thinking about the rug that was under the table.....lol

About wine storage, try using PVC or plactic pipe cut to fit into your cabinets. Or clay pipe. I saw this one tv yesterday.

If you search copycat starbucks recipe , you should come up with some links. I know I have made it before, it is sooooo yummy!

I believe in waiting too! I had a garage sale a couple weeks back and had planned on buying a new yard bench swing, since our is old. Well I looked and looked all over but couldn't find the one I liked. I finally found one, but didn't want to spend that much. So I thought I'd wait.
It just so happened that our neighbor two doors down had a yard sale last weekend. I saw a cool two seater swing in their yard....went to see the price....and it was only $20!!!! It didn't have the top to it, but when we went to pick it up, they said to wait and went and got it. It's in like new shape and fits perfectly with my yard! I love it! This way, I can still sell my old swing, and probably get $20 for it too! lol
So in a way, I walked away from buying the new one with my garage sale money and ended up paying wayyy less for something used.
I did end up giving my sale money in a card for a friend who just lost his father. He needed it more! Good ending to this story!

Two things:

Yesterday I was SO thirsty after we came out of the grocery store but we waited until we got home rather than spending extra money for iced tea and lemonade from Chick-Fil-A.

Today I had $30 worth of stuff in my cart on disneyshopping.com and opted to close the window and not buy anything. It is hard to find PJs for $5 but I will wait until they need them instead of buying the next size.

We went to a bigger city (we live in a small town) and I did not shop AT ALL!!!!! I passed up Old Navy, children's consignment store, the mall, Gap, etc... I realize we did not need to buy anymore summer clothes and we could not find winter/fall clothing yet so I just stayed out of the stores.

This may not seem like that Big of a deal - But its Huge to me -

I went into the grocery store today to buy Half and Half -

I had 20.00 And the 1/2 and 1/2 costs 1.99

Normally I would HAVE to Grab something else to Buy

( After all I have a Whole 20 bucks to spend )

Whether it be a couple loaves of Bread on sale or a Gallon Of Milk - Just beacuse I am Terrified of having only 2 on hand.... Or maybe a Pie for Dessert , or a 6 pack of soda .... Something... ANYTHING-

Well , I Walked to the Dairy , Grabbed the 1/2 and 1/2 .... and Proceeded to the Checkout.......

I Didn't even buy a few 10 cent Pepperment Patties
I left with the ONLY thing I Needed and 18.01 in my pocket...

Great Feeling....
