Just curious what you keep the temp. in your house at this summer? I'm in Arizona and trying to keep it at 79 with blinds pulled down in the afternoon and we have sunscreens on the outside of the house. I'm also running a fan in the main room along with ceiling fan. This is a big change for us, I used to keep it at 75.

We live in the middle of Pa. Our brick house stays pretty cool in the summer until outside temps are over 90. Indoor temps are usually in the 70's. In the winter we have the heat set at 62 degrees, 68 if my grandson is sleeping over.

I live in central Texas so the ac is going usually from March until October. I try to keep it around 75 but when the temp reaches 100 and above I usually turn it down to about 72 and have every fan I own running. Gotta love Texas in the summer.

I live in Arkansas. Right now the air is set on 74. I am very hot natured especially @ night-I can't sleep when I am hot. The problem here is we get a lot of humidity!! There goes my hair! If it wasn't so humid it wouldn't feel bad & I wouldn't have the air on right now. I have all my ceiling fans running also.

I tell people I grew up in an IGLOO... In the winter my mom kept it at 62 and always said put a sweater on... In the summer she opened windows at dinner time and closed them the next morning. That kept things cool, we didn't have ac..

Now I am married and my DH (that can stand for darn can't it) wants to walk into an igloo when he gets home from work in the summer. He would leave the ac at 60 all the time if it was up to him.. So during the day we keep it comfortable 75ish and then turn it down a little before he comes home.. With a window ac in out bedroom, our bed is not pretty to look at. His side literally has a sheet and my side has 3 blankets folded in half piled up.. Usually my nose is under the covers to avoid frost bite. I wear flannel jammies all year long.

We keep it at 67 or 68 in the Winter and around 72 if it is Summer. We only turn the air on if it is humid and uncomfortable though....usually at night when the bricks on our house start releasing the heat they absorbed all day.

I am also in TX and we keep it at 78 with shades drawn during the day and all ceiling fans running. We have done many energy savings things to our house which have really helped. We are slowly replacing all the windows and this year I can really tell the difference.
