Great question! A lot of my thoughts on this was already taken- camping gear, clippers for DH and etc.

The one thing that is kind of frivilous but is loved dearly is the portable DVD players we got for the girls (was only $130 for dual set that plays 2 different movies- it also came with ear buds ). Anyways- it was wonderful going on a 11 hour trip with no fighting or whining (11 hours one way!)- it is priceless, we saved on our patience and asprin for the ride. It will also be used when we go on our long distance camping trips and if we have anyplace to go that will be longer than 1 hour (that seems to be my girls limit to being nice in the car!).

foodsaver!
Hair clippers (for dh)
zoo membership
waterpark membership ($80 for a family of 4 all summer, but $8 per person if you're paying per time you go)
My dh's bike (he rides bike to work {3 miles each way}unless it's raining...saves gas $$ plus he gets excersize, plus we go on family bike rides)
my large slow cooker (used not only for big family meals, but to make my "pulled pork" that I sell in containers for people having gatherings like graduations, weddings or any other get to gether)
portable DVD player ( like others, I will say the same thing!!! It saves our sanity on car trips!!!!)
Solar powered outdoor lights...all of them. Not just for decoration on the outside of our house, but the outdoor lights that we use, we have outdoor motion detector lights that charge off of the sun all day long and work perfectly when there is movement by the house! We also have solar powered lights by the door and garage doors that we turn on from inside of the house, but are charged by the sun all day- no electicity required!
local restaurant savings card. Bought it for $10, every time we use it, it's good for either a buy one , get one free meal or 50 % off total bill...works at 20 of the 27 restaurants we have in our area, lasts for one year!

Our all-in-one printer/scanner/copier. I used to have to drive uptown to the store to get copies of tax forms and other things, so with the price of copies (as small as that is) added to gas and time, I think it pays for itself.

Our health club membership. We bought a "founders" membership from someone for $500 several years ago(They are now selling for 2500). The dues on these memberships never go up. So now with our health insurance discount (20 off a month) we pay 11.95 a month and they have opened a bunch of new clubs and they made higher teirs which are more expensive, but our membership gets us into any club and they just built a new one close to our house with a outdoor pool, it opened saturday and we have been there twice (much cheaper than the city pool which is $7 a person. So basically dh and I pay about .25 cents a vist to workout and the whole family can swim for free.
We also love our zoo membership.

A pool we just bought one for the summer. My kids wake up with their suits on. I save a lot in gas and I'm getting some much needed yard and housework done by being at home more.

We put a automatic timer on our pool last year so it didn't run all the time. It saved lots of our electric bill.

One we haven't done yet but are definately planning to is a tankless hot water heater. It's just crazy to have that water being heated 24/7 when you can just heat it on demand.

Our grill, because we end up using so much all year long, instead of going out to eat.
Crockpot
Ice tea maker (believe it or not) - although it's just as easy to make ice tea on the stove, DH is more apt to make it in the Ice Tea Maker and drinks less soda, b/c of it.
