I was just reading in another thread about seeing on screen how much you have spent at Target in the past year. It makes me squirm in my chair to think about seeing it on paper, and yet I feel this is something I have to face. I am in Target toy and clearance recovery, but I do still shop there because it is very close to my house, and my store has prices as low as Walmart on most items. It is cleaner, less crowded and overall much easier to shop with kids. But if I saw it all on paper... I'm sure that would make me think long and hard about putting anything in my basket! I have cut way back on my trips there, but there is always room for improvement.

I have to say I'm afraid to see on paper how much I spend at any one store. I think this would be a huge eye opener for me. Maybe I should make that my goal for the next 6 months.

I think I could handle it. I have learned alot of restraint in last year and I really think about it before I buy something. I feel like I have to be able to justify it to dh when he gets home and that really helps me out alot.

I'd be in denial......no really it would be ok. I do need to cut back, but i'm doing much better too! But for some I think you should keep track of how much and what you bought! Even for just a month!

OK I did it! I had dh check the computer and tally all my Target receipts. So far this year I have spent almost exactly $1,000.00 at Target. That's something around $135 a month. That includes a stroller and a wholeeeeee lot of clearance toys, a lot of diapers and also groceries and clearance clothing. But still, that seems like a lot. But what kills me most is that I am averaging a trip a week to Target. Why am I going there so often? I probably spend at least an hour there per trip, usually more. I could have done a lot of scrapbooking in that amount of time.

I am pretty good when it comes to Target except the CLEARANCE always gets me!!! I always have to go by every end cap even if it is just to look . It is just too easy to spend money there especially when things are on clearance. I don't know about you ladies, but I love it when I find a $20.00 product there marked down to $2 and $3. Seriously who could resist that!!!

:D :D Is there a support group for this?

I am limiting my target runs, but darn if I don't just happen to go by the end caps looking for those orange stickers ...... I also am still in recovery......
