We never formally announce our spending freezes, but honestly we pretty much live by them and only buy extra things once in a great while. It helps that I rarely leave my house, when I do, thats when I buy things. Dh never has time to buy extras, so we do pretty well just existing on what we have. I doesn't often bother us either, I think it's because we stay home a lot and never really see the "Jones" to compare.
