DD and I stopped in to our grocery store this morning to get milk and I ended up walking by the meat department. They had sooooo much fresh meat marked down 80-90%. :happy dance: I thought at first it was stuff that expired yesterday or today, but it was all stuff with Friday and Saturday's date. So I started loading up my cart when I noticed there were alot of other women doing the same thing. The women next to me clued me in that every day during the week between 11 and 1, the butchers come out and mark everything down to make room for the new stuff. Well Riley and I usually shop in the later afternoon so we have been missing out on all this great stuff.

I was just so thrilled I could barely stand still. Now I have a stocked fridge and freezer (I bought 16 items) for under $25.00. So definitely ask the butcher at your grocery store when they mark stuff down because it can drastically save you some $$$$. I don't know why the store just doesn't buy less but I am sooo not complaining.

GREAT BUYS!! Where was that at? I need to learn the markdown schedules for our local Food Lion and HT some weeks I hit it and can stock up for a month at a time and other times i completly miss it!

Does Money Matter?

This was at the new Food Lion (I say new, but its been a couple of years) on Idlewild Rd. in Indian Trail. Its about five minutes off the Idlewild exit from I-485 (heading towards Monroe). We are usually the only ones in there, but I guess that's because I didn't the secret time to go.

at those prices - it may just be worth the gas money I'd have to spend just to get those savings...WOW...I would have gone crazy too!

What store was it? I may just have to start asking around here and see if they do the same thing.
