What did you use up today? What were your victories? Any tips to share?

Lets see tonight in our house was leftover night for dinner. We had 3 different kinds of leftovers so we ate all of those for dinner so I didn't have to fix anything.
I also made out my menu & looked in may pantry, freezer & fridge & there are 3 meals that I will be making that will use up quite a few things. Yay for me!:happy dance: We will be going out of town next week for 4 days so I am wanting to eat up a lot of stuff so that it won't spoil.
I noticed in my pantry that I have a stockpile of oil. If anybody needs oil I have vegetable, canola, peanut & olive oil. Take your pick!

I used up a Corn chowder soup mix (I added chicken to it to be a hearty dinner) I also used up an entire bag of frozen veggies and half a box of pastina. I cooked both in chicken broth (which I used from my pantry as well) and cooked up a plain chicken cutlet too. I pureed the veggies & chicken with some broth and mixed it with the pastina. That was dinner for DD last night and I have froze it in single servings for myself and her for lunch too! I am also making Vegetarian Chili tonight. Good-bye to a can of pink beans, kidney beans and diced tomotoes. I also gave DD 2 cans of canned fruit (In Pear Juice) so far for snacks and as her fruit with meals.
I am full go to empty my pantry.

Lets see, two nights ago I found canned Cranberry Sauce in my pantry from Thanksgiving - DH said we should do Thanksgiving more often! I also found some cans of fruit so I split that up in little tupperware cups and made my own fruit cups for our lunch!
We are on day 3 of leftover baked spagetti and then that will be gone! Yesterday I made Mac N Cheese with Penne noodles since they had been sitting around for a awhile.

I am ready to empty my pantry. I made a menu for next week that should clear out the pantry! I'm amazed at how much food we have that just sits around!

This week DH and I only spent money on milk, bagels, and eggs - plus only one lunch! Go us! I have historically been eating out every day for lunch, but now I am making more at dinner and having leftovers - since seeing how much I waste each month on lunch!

Yesterday I made deep dish chicken pot pie, so I used up the chicken broth and pie crust that was in the fridge from the last time I made it. My son ate the last granola bar so that was used up also. The kids also finished a box of cereal for breakfast so that was used up. Hmm, I'm going to have to go shopping before long! My kids are going to spend the week with their grandparents and go to Disney World though, so I won't be going through so much food.

Well, I haven't got groceries for two weeks, so we have 'used it up' on everything!! My husband opened the ice box last night and said there's nothing in there, we have to go shopping!

I used up my last box of Juliene potatoes and I depleted my Bush's baked bean stockpile by 1 (I have about 6 more cans of that- it will be used up by the 4th!)!

I had half of an onion left, which I usually throw away. I diced it up and froze it for future use. I also made mini banana muffins with my giraffe bananas!
