buying lunch out - we still have 1 free day because it probably wouldn't work to go cold turkey
Drive thru car washes - don't remember the last time it was washed.

well, so far:
Professional hair highliting
Buying pop/bottled water at store check outs
Buying weekly magazines
Just buying new clothes/jewelry whenever

We're trying to cut back on pop on our grocery list, along with thinking of giving up sat tv.

Latest Blog Entry: doing great

I have given up pedicures and getting my hair professionally colored as well! I used to get a starbucks every "soccer" day (three days a week) just before we'd get to my dd1's soccer practice, but I don't anymore. I bring HyVee brand (store brand) carbonated, flavored water instead. I love it and it only costs me 40 cents per bottle, where I would spend $2.09 on my favorite steamed raspberry milk at Starbucks or $4.80 for my fav. coffee drink!

I also gave up womans golf league (savings of $45 a month) at my friends club.
Now I just go with a few friends once or twice a month- it only costs my hubby and I $15 a month to keep up our membership to the club through my hubby's work!!! plus that $15 allows us to use all of their excersize facilities 24 hours a day! That is another savings in itself! Before we got this club membership from my hubby's work, we were paying $35 a month for both of us to use a 24 hour fitness place!

We still do some spontaneous things and give in from time to time, but we can afford to do that because we have cut back otherwise. It's more about controling impulses and doing things in moderation.
I could have written this post! This is exactly us too!

We no longer go out to eat except on the rarest of occasions. We did order Sushi on Saturday but that was the only time we ate food not prepared at home in about 2 1/2 months.
We have cut our food bill but still not enough.
The biggest was letting my demonstrator status go for my fav. stamp company and also have squashed my scrapbook supply habit. That alone will save us about $5000. this year!

Professional coloring too! I have allowed myself to get it done once a year and the rest of the time I do it myself.

I have also gone darker than I used to, which is closer to my root color. By going darker I don't have to do my hair as often, which saves money.

Salon hair products.

Some of the other things I've given up are partly due to financial concerns but partly due to having to drag my toddler with me. When I've got this almost two-year-old with a short attention span, it's difficult to wander through the grocery store ( I stick to a detailed list) or go out to eat or simply go to the mall.

I've given up my cute short hair that required a trim every 4 to 5 weeks. It's been about 3 months since my last trim. Also highlights and coloring, eyebrow wax (just tweeze my own now). Salon shampoo and conditioner, now I use whatever is a good deal at CVS. Browsing thru Targets clearance stuff, no post holiday shopping except Xmas. We've given up satellite and eating out on the nights I don't want to cook. No more shopping at Lane Bryant, I try to justwear what I have. Also I haven't bought any cute summer shoes this year I'm still wearing last years. I also have a log of rummage sale clothing that I've bought for my 4 DDs and my 3 nephews so that I don;t over buy. I also created a list of people that I buy Xmas gifts for and am buying throught the year so that I don't overspend for Xmas.
