They had them for $9.99 at Kmart around Father's Day so I bought one for dh and used it for the first time last night. It actually turned out pretty good and a couple people at work commented on it that it looked nice so I was happy. Dh keeps it a little longer on top so I need to study on how to blend it a little better with the shaved part. Any ideas? Anyway, I am so happy to be saving $14 every month or so on a haircut!

Haircuts are so expenive, aren't they?! I used to cut my husband's all the time until about a year ago. Now I just do i every once in a while, because the top is where I have trouble too. He also likes to wear it longer on the top and I've no idea how to make it look right that way so he ends up having to spike it. I get so worried I'm going to mess up his hair, the last time I did it I was so rattled I nearly used the blade without the guard on him!! Thank heavens I caught i in time!

I still haven't used the clippers we bought in March on DH, I'm such a chicken! He said this week we had to cut his hair, but we never got around to it on his days off. I think I'm going to butcher it so bad.

I cut my DH's hair as well. It was definitely intimidating the first few times I did it (and still is)! He also likes it longer on top, and he's helped me get it where it doesn't look too funny. I use the shears (and thinning shears, cuz his hair is super thick) to trim it first. I then work on the back of his head with I believe #4 (??). I move my arm so that I bring the shears further away as I move up his head. When I am working near the longer hair on top, I just use a bigger "fork", so there is a gradual change b/w the shorter back area and the top.

OK, totally hard to describe. Sorry if this makes no sense to you!

I just started doing the same thing! It's great, and not too difficult. I am also having the same problem with blending just right, so ds has a very slight bulge like a bowl cut. I noticed that the second time was much easier and came out a bit better than the first time. I'm guessing you will probably get the blending better with practice.

Good luck!

My husband has always cut his own, which is nice.

My best friend uses her husbands beard trimmer to shave her dogs butt and doesn't tell him. Isn't that nasty?

I did this recently, too. Congrats on saving money in the long run!
