We told TKS to cut our cable off since we hardly watch TV but I am going to miss watching Reality TV , National Geographic, and Cartoon Network for DS :-( . Thinking about it now it makes me sad but I will be happy that I can save $30 on cable every month.

Good for you. We have Directv. And I think it is a waste to have to pay for television. Maybe I will get brave like you and cancel. But then we would have NO tv. I don't know if I could be totally tv free....... hmmmm but now trhat I have joined mommysavers maybe so!

We've been channel free for three years now and truthfully we've hardly missed it! We do have DVD's though! I think you'll do just fine!

Congratulations! I don't know how I would survive. I love CSI, So You Think You Can Dance, and anything on the Food Network. Hi, my name is Brittany and I'm a tv-aholic. lol.

Good for you...I wish I was as brave..

I have DirecTV and think it is a waste, but my kids watch the kids channels and I just don't know if I could get by with NO tv.. I need to watch the news in the mornings and evenings..plus food network, fittv, etc. and sometimes it is just nice to sit back and relax and watch a show or something without having to drive someplace and rent a dvd.

I have been thinking hard about it though.. it would save me $57 a month.. If I had an antenna, I would be more inclined to do it..

We just cut our cable down to the most basic package, which is 16 stations and it costs us $17 a month, down from $57 a month. We are loving it and have found there are other things to do besides watch tv.

You are right the library has so many DVDs that you can just check out. I too am one who is happy not to have a cable bill. I would really like to not even have a tv. It seams with a lot of shows you can now watch back episodes right on the computer. We did that when we would miss our favorite shows.

I wish you could just do it by channel. We would only watch abc, cbs, discovery, tlc, that's it. We never watch any of the other channels, of course we still haven't hooked the cable up yet! lol Dh keeps mentioning it and I keep forgetting.

I totally agree, I keep cable for DD to watch her three favorites: Animal Planet, Food Network & Discovery Health (keep in mind she's only almost 8!) If she weren't into watching educational things I'd probably cut it as well.
