Anyway, I have been eating the food I had been 'collecting' and it's going great. I went to the store the other day and bought less than $25 of food - this has been about the average I've spent a week for since I tried to start this in April. I'm pretty much just buying fresh fruits & veggies, bread and milk. Occassionally I have bought a few other things like lunchmeat or packaged products but not much. I actually ran out of 2 products last week. I couldn't believe it - I never run out of things!!
With just my DS and I we have 2 fridges w/freezers and a separate freezer. I am slowly using up what's in there - planning a week's worth of meals at a time and using what we have. It has been great for my bank account and good to see empty spaces in the freezer and on the shelf. I hope by the end of the summer to have the extra fridge and freezer empty.
Just wanted others to know that it CAN work if you try. It is hard to pass up good deals at the store but I really like seeing the low totals at the checkout.

This is exactly what I do. I try to spend $20-25 on fresh/frozen fruit, milk, bread, tp and a few other necessities. It is working out really good.
