I have several, an American Express, a Discover, a World Perks Visa (airline) and another mastercard or visa. I also have several department store cards, though I rarely use them. I mostly just use my check card. I never carry a balance on any card.

I would never not have at least a couple credit card, even if they were just stuck in the cabinet. They just have too many advantages as long as you use it properly.

None. I was not disciplined with them, so when we paid ours off, I closed the accounts and have lived without one for more than a year. When I do get one again, it will be for rewards and paid off every month.
