and how many of them are maxed? LOL
Dh and I have one credit card. We use it when we travel and that's all. We TRY and pay for things with cash only.....and if we can't afford it, we don't get it...right away.
We did, however, just get a rewards card which is very tempting to use if we have to, but we are both very disciplined and don't.

We dont have any because we pay for everything with cash, but I have been debating over getting one for things like online purchases etc.

We have a Visa that we put everything on (cable, phone, cell, gas, groceries, everything), but it is always paid off every month. We are really discplined so I don't recommend that for everybody. We get a cash reward every month and more on gas purchases so, obviously, that helps.
We also have a Discover that we use at Sam's. Again, always paid off. We also have a Sears card for when we make big purchases at Sears, but that is rare. That way we can take a bit longer at 0% interest to pay it off. When we do that, we only do it when we HAVE the money and I put it in a CD for that period of time until the interest free period is up. That way I have earned money on it instead of them.
Again, we are really very, very discplined so we have never maxed them out nor have we ever had an interest payment due on them. In fact, they keep increasing our credit limit to unreal amounts that we will never get to! I call and get them back down in the event that they are stolen. I just don't like having $15,000 or more in credit available knowing we are not going to use it.
So, to answer your question: 3.

We have one main card, and dh is the main user of it. I have one for my Arbonne orders, but only use it about once a month. We have a gas card because we get 5% back. We are trying to only do the cash thing too. It was working for a while, until dh decided that he needed to start carrying the credit card again! Oh well!!!

we have one main card, one zero balance card, has long credit history with high credit rating, sAM'S credit. also best buy, currently zero balance, which we only use with free interest. we are very disciplined with the free interest also. so we have 4 but only two with revolving credit. sams varies all the time we usually only have revolving credit for a couple of months.

When dh and I were first married we had a credit card. It didn't max out or anything but it did get used A LOT. The interest was killing us so we openned up one of those credit cards (like from City) that has 0 % APR on balance transfers, etc, transferred over our balance and then paid it off by the end of the year. That worked for us. But since then we just thought "let's not do that again" and we haven't!

we have one w/ a $5,000 limit and it is almost maxed, when we get it paid down I'm going to lower the limit so I never owe that much again. It is taking for ever to get paid down though.

I myself have 3, and are not maxed out. DH has about 4-5 and are not maxed out either. Dh's gets paid off every month. I try to pay mine of every month as well, but sometimes tend to carry on balance when we've had an expensive month.

We have one 0% interest credit card. We use it for grocerys, gas, clothing, anf emergencies. I guess that is pretty much everything. We have a balance we are trying to pay off from when times were hard and everything was going up. So always pay alot over the min. and at the end of it's term we switch to another 0% interest card. One day if I can stick to being very frugal we can get back to paying the balance off in full each month.
