But I hope it happens again and again!

This week was a tight paycheck (DH usually has OT, but b/c we went away over 4th of July, it wasn't much OT). I had a $200 budget for food shopping(that is for 2 weeks) Today I went shopping and between all 4 stores (Lowe's, Harris Teeter, BJ's and Aldi's) I spent 176.07... The kicker? That INCLUDED shampoo, deodorant, paper towels, soft scrub, and dish soap, and a case of beer that wasn't even part of the budget!
The only thing I will have to buy again next week is 2 more gallons of milk at $6.50 for the 2.

Lowes had a triple coupon sale (Thank you Carol for announcing it otherwise I'd have missed it!) and that helped tremendously! I saved 19.05 in coupons alone, Harris Teeter I only bought what was on sale B12G1 and soda was 3/8.88 (NEED my Diet Dr Pepper!), and Aldi's...well, how can you not save $$ there? I even bought myself a bouquet of flowers!

If you've seen my past posts my average food bill is between $80-$100 a week, some weeks as low as $60 if there are awesome sales and I have stocked up prior. I budgeted so much b/c wewent on vacation the first week of July, and then it was just DH and I so I didn't have much food in the house (Condiments and milk and grapes in the fridge, a chicken and bottle of vodka in the freezer)...My fridge is now fully stocked with fruits, veggies, yogurt, and lunchmeats. The freezers have more chicken, chops ,steak, ribs and even ice cream than it knows what to do with.

Maybe I just estimated all my numbers high (I Like to round up), but whatever I did, I hope I can do it again in 2 weeks!

Sorry, I'm so happy about it, I just had to share!

WTG! that's great!! Now take that $23.99 and put it in a vacation fund (or some thing similar). I am hoping to go to Sav-A-Lot next week.

That's exactly what I did!! Every week , I put X amount of dollars in Christmas and X in Savings in my ING account, so I just deposited an extra $20 in Christmas!

WAY TO GO GIRL!!! Now can I have your family, their appetites, and your food bill???

Steve and I have done much better on our food budget...it's no longer about $400 - $500 every 2 weeks...we've got it down to $200 - $250 every 2 weeks...and that's including fish, steaks, fruits, fresh veggies, salads, etc...
