I live in Indiana and we don't have tax free weekends here either. They can't even figure out our property taxes, if they did something like this, the state would probably shut down!

Maybe all of the states that have tax free days could post them and we "poor" people from other states could plan vacation for that time to your state and take advantage of saving money.....LOL......travel for hours to save a little $$$.........it sounds like it could work.....
I have family in Illinois and I remember them coming up every summer and buying a ton of clothes because we don't have sales tax on clothes

In Missouri it's the first weekend in Aug. but it starts on Friday so we have three days !!! I looked it up on the computer the other day or I wouldn't have known either. It could be different every year but it said for 2007. I live close to the AR state line and I was wondering if AR has any tax free days ? I like to shop at their Wal-marts if I can't find something at the one that we have to drive to which is 30 miles away. We don't have a Wal-Mart in our town.

I'm from Iowa too, and have been a mommy for lots of years. Please be very careful to research the prices of stuff before getting too wild with the Tax Free days. I know I did that a couple years back, and found out that the next week after the TF days, the socks and undies and stuff were on sale for more than the 7% I saved doing the previous weekend.

Make room for Nebraska, Indiana and Illinois, we too don't get a tax break. God forbid this state just might blow away if they gave the residents here a tax break of any kind for more than a few minutes. Interestingly enough it was on the news a few weeks ago that this state is so greedy for their share of taxes that they sent out thousands of letters to our residents who have bought things on the internet over the last year to avoid paying sales tax demanding this states share of tax money. And they plan to collect it all. Wonder how much taxes will again rise to cover the postage, collection and legal fees in getting this measily lump sum of just over a million dollars.
